You probably know that when it comes to Ferris Wheel Press, my collection has long since reached complete status, while my love for them has crossed into obsession. And although I suspected that the Timeless Treasures (Mystery) Box wouldn’t add anything truly new to my collection… I bought it anyway. So what was inside a $150 box?

Timeless Treasures is one of three Mystery Boxes from Ferris Wheel Press, released on their US and Canadian websites at the end of June 2026. From the very beginning, the company announced that each variant would be limited to just 25 boxes, containing unique inks and stationery goodies. My mixed box could contain both pens and inks, as well as accessories, with a total value of at least $200.

There were two other variants available:

  1. Timeless Treasures Ink Box – $150 USD – a box containing inks only, also with a minimum value of $200.
  2. The Grand Curio – $525 USD – a box containing a full selection of Ferris Wheel Press products, worth more than $700.

At the end of July 2026, Ferris also released Timeless Treasures on its European website, but at a rather eye-watering price. The box that cost me $150 in the US costs €250 in Europe, while still offering exactly the same contents (a minimum value of $200). So we’re paying almost twice as much (at today’s exchange rate, €250 is $284).

What was in my Timeless Treasures?

The Aluminum Carousel (Little Miss Jubilee) F

€104.99 / $90 USD

The Aluminum Carousel is definitely the cherry on top of the whole box, and it immediately made me very happy. I’d been considering getting another one, because Bearrington Black pleasantly surprised me, and I used it in my journal in June (with Copperleaf Guild ink). It’s well-balanced, compact, and genuinely reliable. The aluminum body is intriguing and means I can stop worrying about keeping the pen safe — even loose in my backpack, nothing happens to it. I checked.

Little Miss Jubilee in pink? Absolutely gorgeous. It’s just as beautiful, although a little more shiny than the model I’ve already grown rather fond of (Black variant is basically matte).

If you’re wondering which ink I put in it… well. Still none. I’m practically itching to write with this pen, but I haven’t found the right excuse or come up with the right ink yet. But we’ll leave the story of having too many pens for another day.

The Carousel (Hearthy Harvest) M

€17.99 / $22 USD

Although this pen was a duplicate in my collection, I welcomed it with great enthusiasm. My friend was in love with this color, so I could share it with her.

Carousels are genuinely small, lightweight, and inexpensive pens that, in my opinion, are much more comfortable to use than a Lamy Safari or Kaweco Sport. Although, of course, they’re a little… uglier, and look basic.

The Scribe Ballpoint in Lady Didot

€52.99 / $45 USD

The Scribe – metal ballpoint pen – is one of the oldest Ferris Wheel Press writing instruments in my collection. I found the exact same color in the Timeless Treasures box that I’d had for years. Still, it was a very welcome “find”. I love this pen and have been carrying it in my backpack for years. Now I can also keep one permanently on my desk!

This ballpoint takes blue, black, or turquoise refills, with a Medium line width (1.0m mm). I’ll soon have to start looking for compatible refills, because Ferris is ending its Scribe line and discontinuing the refills for it. There are already only turquoise ones left in the European warehouse. Not a big fan of them.

Everyday Ink – Sweet Honeydew (released March 2020) 38 ml

€25.99 / $23 USD

One of the inks from Ferris Wheel Press’s early spring collection. The color is terribly pale, making it rather unusable for everyday writing.

Ferritales – Sprouting Pastures (September 2025) 20 ml

€22.99 / $22 USD

Sprouting Pastures is actually a pretty reasonable green with pink shimmer. It’s one of those Ferritales inks that even made it into my diary.

Calligraphy Ink – Divine Violet 28 ml

€22.99 / $22.00 USD

Calligraphy inks aren’t really my thing, but this is quite a pretty color. A dark ink-blue with silver sparkles. The sparkles are quite large, and the ink itself similiar to Furry Frostbites Ferritales.

Remember that these inks are not suitable for fountain pens!

So, is the Timeless Treasures box worth buying?

Total value: €248 / $246 USD

So in dollar terms, the box is a very good deal, especially since my main store is the European one. The Aluminum Carousel alone made it worth it. Of course, I could have bought everything from this box myself, paying a little extra, and a stubborn person could argue that two of the inks are useless, but… there’s something charming about mystery boxes, and sometimes it doesn’t take much to call one a success.

I didn’t have particularly high expectations, knowing full well that my collection already contains every type of product from Ferris Wheel Press’s archives, but I was genuinely pleasantly surprised.

The biggest disappointment overall is the lack of variety between the boxes. Every one I’ve seen contains exactly the same inks and differs only in the colors of the pens and ballpoint. Ordering two would therefore make absolutely no sense.

If you’re only just building your collection, like green inks, or are looking for an excuse to try the aluminum version of The Carousel, the US box is worth considering. The European prices are, of course, completely ridiculous, which is a shame. You can use JA-PAPERLOVER for 15% off, though, so at least you won’t be overpaying. But at that point, wouldn’t it make more sense to just choose the colors yourself?

All in all, I’m genuinely happy with my box because it gave me an excuse to own a second aluminum Carousel and a second The Scribe ballpoint. Spending $127 on a Mystery Box (150 dollars – 15%), rather than €105 on the pen alone, sounds like a pretty good deal.
