Ferris Wheel Press is making Magic: the Gathering inks (and pens)!
I've been a fan of Magic the Gathering since high school, so the new Ferris Wheel Press collection sounds like a dream come true!
Okay, this one is as exciting as the Harry Potter collab collection, that’s currently sitting in my order history with “partialy paid” and “unfulfilled” statuses. Ferris Wheel Press and Magic: the Gathering in one sentence? Absolutely incredible. What’s there to know about The Mox Collection?
Ferris Wheel Press’ first collaboration with Magic: the Gathering
We’re presented with the Masque pens (both Resin and Brass options) and matching inks for all five colors of mana in the world of MtG. Mox Pearl (white), Mox Sapphire (blue), Mox Jet (black), Mox Ruby (red), and Mox Emerald (green). As a bonus item, Ferris is also preparing Stained Glass Dividers, slightly bigger than the cards, that can help separate the cards in your storage containers. (For those who don’t play, they could also double as bookmarks!)
Let’s look at the Limited Edition Masque pens first:

Nibs: Fine (0.45 mm) and Medium (0.55 mm) included, steel, 24K gold-plated (but with JoWo #6 housing, you can easily swap it)
The Masque pens in Everyday Writing Sets:

Nibs: custom steel nib (chrome plated) with 0.45 mm writing line (Fine).
The Mox Fountain Pen inks

As I’ve mentioned before, we are getting 5 new inks. One for each mana color. All of the inks have shimmer.
Mox Pearl: golden ink with silver shimmer.
Mox Sapphire: blue with blue shimmer. Fans of the brand should notice a very familiar blue base in the Mox Sapphire ink (cough cough, Bluebell Brushstrokes).
Mox Jet: black with purple shimmer.
Mox Ruby: red with champagne shimmer. Oh my!
Mox Emerald: green with copper shimmer.
Limited edition sets will include 38 ml bottles, Everyday writing sets come with 10 ml bottles. Small bottles do not have the cool engravings or the gems.
Super-cool stained-glass like Mana Dividers
Coated steel construction with translucent resin creates a stained-glass effect. Stunning! Available as part of the Limited Edition Mox Writing Set and a standalone set of five (no word on pricing of it, yet).

Prices
One important thing to keep in mind, the official prices are in CAD, not USD. At the current exchange rate, $55 CAD is about $39 USD or €34.
We will know the Euro and USD equivalents as soon as the campaign starts. €155 for the Limited edition pen with 38 ml ink would be a really nice deal for european folks, that right now have to pay €168,99 for the Twilight Symphony Masque alone, without the ink! Judging by the prices of The Marquise and The Joule in Licensed variants, it’s very possible, that they will be cheaper.
And remember, that the Limited Edition Mox Pens come with two nibs (single nibs are priced at ~€33).
| Early Bird pricing | Kickstarter pricing | MSRP | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 38 ml ink bottle | $55 CAD | $60 CAD | $69 CAD |
| 1x Mox Pen + 10ml Ink Pot set | $65 CAD | $69 CAD | $79 CAD |
| 1x Limited Edition pen, 38 ml ink + Mana Divider | $235 CAD | $249 CAD | $295 CAD |
| Signature Vault (5x Limited Edition pen, 5x 38 ml ink + 5x Mana Dividers) | $1099 CAD | $1199 CAD | $1475 CAD |
| Complete collection (10 pens, 5x 38ml ink, 5x 10 ml ink + 5x Mana Dividers) | $1399 CAD | $1499 CAD (about $1050 USD) | $1870 CAD |
The large sets are of course overwhelming, but we are getting a lot of pens in them. With the latest campaigns however, Ferris Wheel Press has also added a Pay-Over-Time option, allowing to split the payment into three installments.
The Mox Collection on Kickstarter
Ferris Wheel Press’ new Kickstarter campaign begins on October 6th (2026), 8 am EST. The campaign should run until the end of October and that’s when we will all get charged for our pledges.
There is still no hints regarding Stretch Goals.
Are you excited for the new launch? Do the inks look like something you would be interested in? I will be getting all of them of course, as the head-nerd of Ferris Wheel Press, but the Mox Emerald sure looks like something up my alley anyway!
